Short Bio
I dedicate my efforts to deciphering the internet world and discovering new media applications. My aim is to provide solutions that make new media applications, platforms and tools more accessible to communicators, public relations practitioners, academics, researchers and students.
I am a PhD candidate at the University of the West of Scotland working under the supervision of Professor Andy Miah on a project focusing on new media frames about Beijing 2008 during the Beijing Olympic Games. Prior to my doctorate I have studied Public Relations, Strategic Communication, Management and Business Communication in Romania, Belgium and the United States.
I am also an independent Public Relations Consultant specialized in social media strategies for small and medium companies. I have served American and European clients, both from the profit and the non-profit sector including Netlog from Belgium, Help Our World from Brazil, Coca-Cola in Romania and Deloitte in the USA.
Since December 2008 I am also a Visiting Lecturer at Katholieke Hogeschool Zuid-West Vlaanderen where I deliver every semester an intensive course on New Media and their impact on creative industries.
Since November 2010 I am an Advisory Board member of SMCEDU, an education initiative of Social Media Club(founded by Chris Heuer) focused on improving the quality of Social Media education in Universities and empowering its community of Social Media professors.
I am a contributor to Culture @ the Olympics, AA and JJ in Vancouver 2010 and Travel.PRwave.ro.I also blog about conferences, call for papers or chapters and job opportunities within academiahere and use Twitter as well.
